Our department offers a number of exciting experiential learning opportunities through our archaeological field schools (CNRS 335/535). We generally try to offer at least one each year. Recent field schools have included those at the Late Bronze Age site of Kalavasos-Ayios Dhimitrios on the island of Cyprus with Prof. Kevin Fisher and the Roman site of Gerace on the island of Sicily with Prof. Roger Wilson. In 2016 Prof. Matthew McCarty offered a field school at the Roman site of Apulum in Romania, and in 2019 he will be leading a new archaeological project, also in Romania. In 2019 Prof. Wilson will again be leading a field school (his sixth) at Gerace in Sicily.
